Noelena came to Hope Academy because she heard it was for free and wanted to continue to learn. While at Hope, she has been able to learn computer skills and also entrepreneurship skills. In her spare time, when she is not helping her mother in the garden, she enjoys eating matooke. She would like to have a sponsor so she can go back to school, and become a nurse.

She dropped out of school in 2007 in Primary 7  in interest of her sister who was in S.4 to be able to sit her final exams for senior four. She helps her grandmother in the garden during the day, and loves to play netball in her spare time. She came to Hope Academy to learn how to use the computer, which she has been able to do, as well as getting to play netball on Saturdays. She hopes to be able to continue her studies and become a nurse one day.

Both her father and mother died with AID’s and she lives with her grandmother. She failed P7, and had to drop out before she could finish that level. She heard about Hope Academy and came to learn English and computer skills. Since coming to Hope, Zaituna has learned more English, both speaking and reading the language. During the day she helps her grandmother in the garden, and also helps to prepare food. When she has extra time, she likes to play netball. She hopes to get a sponsor so she is able to go back to school and become a teacher.

Coming to Hope Academy has helped him learn entrepreneurial skills, and as a result he has started his own poultry business. He would love to be able to go back to school to continue learning

He is 16 years old, and lives with his parents and brother who also goes to Hope Academy, but neither of the boys are in school. Their father is a fisherman, and does not have the money to pay for their school fees. Julius finished P4 before he stopped going to school. He came to Hope Academy hoping to learn computer skills and to get help with school. While at Hope, he has been able to learn English and also basic computer skills. He loves to play soccer in his free time. He hopes to be able to go back to school to continue learning and be able to get a job working on computers after he finishes school.
