Reagan Return to Stories of Hope
Reagan is 18 years old and in Senior 2 (grade 9). His father died when he was very young and he currently lives with his mother and 3 siblings in Kalisizo village. He completed Primary School and now attends St. Anthony’s Secondary School in Kyazanga.
Reagan has been involved in URF’s After School Program (ASP) since the beginning in June 2006. Through URF and the ASP, Reagan was able to find a sponsor and is one of the brightest young men in the program and is always eager and excited to gain more knowledge. One of the recurring problems that Reagan faces is that of Asthma. Frequently Reagan does not have the funds to obtain the medicine needed to keep his asthma under control.
Reagan dreams of completing his studies, becoming a physician, and traveling the world in order to acquire more knowledge. The After School Program has helped him work toward these goals by supplementing his studies and expanding his knowledge of computers.
His suggestion for Hope
Academy is to become a boarding school, with dormitories for the students. He believes that the children would benefit much more if they did not have to spend over an hour walking to and from school each day and would be able to use that time to study.
