Sponsor a Child

Children Waiting for Sponsors. Give them Hope!studentsreading

After you decide which child you would like to sponsor, please complete the Sponsorship Pledge Form.  Standard sponsorship is  $300 a year which is $25 a month. This amount covers tuition, uniforms, books, lunch fee, school requirements, and other basic supplies like pens and pencils, geometry set, shoes, cloths, etc.

However, if you cannot afford $300 a year, you may consider making a general donation toward the Teachers’ Salary Fund.  This fund provides education for many other orphan students who don’t have sponsors yet.  About 40% of our students can’t afford to pay and we let them study until we can find sponsors for them. These students had previously dropped out of school due to financial reasons. By supporting the Teachers’ Salary Fund you sponsor more than one student.

After submitting the form, mail check made to Uganda Rural Fund at P.O. Box 388, West Springfield, MA 01090. You can also make your donation online through PayPal but remember PayPal deducts a processing fee; so not 100% goes to your child. If you have any questions, please contact John Mary: jmlugemwa@ugandaruralfund.org or 763-291-1102. Thanks for providing education support for needy children!

Benon Tumuhimbise, 16 Years Old

Living in a house of bricks and mud, a poorly constructed door neither safe nor secure, Benon must work to help provide for himself and his family.  A broken back prevents his mother from helping, so Benon and his siblings must farm for food.  Lacking the expendable income necessary for medication or scholastic materials, the family relies on government hospitals for their medical care, and family friend, Nakalema Jordan, for emergency assistance. Benon needs the funds to help him attend Hope Integrated Academy regularly.

Richard Kasajja, Age 17

A student at Hope Academy in Senior 4 (Grade 11), Richard lives with his step-mother, Namata, and two step-brothers, Birimuye and Sserungo in a poorly-conditioned house with a leaky roof and no beds.  In order to obtain the money necessary for their basic needs, the family farms and sells food, which is difficult because they lack enough for themselves. In addition, Richard lacks financial support from his step-mother and two uncles.  When sick, Richard obtains treatment from clinics but can rarely pay for medications when sick.  He could use all the financial support possible.

Richard Kawuki, Age 14

Attending Hope Academy in Senior 2 (Grade 9), Richard resides with his grandmother, Nakate Marla, who is ill.  Richard farms on the family’s small plot of land in order to sell food.  His grandmother sells plants to obtain money for medication. Richard has two sisters, one of which is living and studying in Kampala, and one brother.  In case of emergencies, Fred of the URF staff and his neighbor Hejat Mariam helps Richard.  Richard would benefit tremendously from a sponsorship.

Ssozi Edward, Age 15

Ssozi was born into a large family- he lives with five brothers and sisters, as well as his Aunt Maurisia.  While he has plenty of company, their house is too small for such a large family.  Ssozi attends Hope Academy where he is Senior 2 (Grade 9).  His aunt owns a small piece of land which Ssozi farms and use the food they make to sell for money.  While he enjoys playing football, Ssozi complains of pains in his chest.  The family cannot afford medical care, so a sponsorship would go a long way to helping Ssozi.

Namanda Grace, Age 15

Namanda lives in a big family- eleven in total.  She has five sisters and four brothers and the head of the household is her father, Bonaface Ssenyondo.  Their home is too small for so many people.  Fortunately, Namanda’s brothers work in the village of Kigando to buy their food.  Healthwise, Namanda suffers from poor eyesight but cannot afford medical treatment or glasses.  Additionally, her father is unable to afford treatment for his lung cancer. The family’s primary help in an emergency situation is their neighbors. Namanda loves to sing and enjoys listening to music. She is in Senior 4 (Grade 11)at Hope Academy and would like to be a doctor when she grows up. A sponsorship would greatly advance her goal

Musisi Julius, Age 15

Living in a rented housing with a poor door, windows, and roofs, Musisi and his mother struggle to provide for themselves. His mother, Kulabako Ruth, works at a hair salon, yet his father has disappeared and no one knows where he is.  His grandmother is sick but they are only able to pay for small amounts of medication. Musisi is in Senior 4 (Grade 11) at Hope Academy and hopes to one day become an engineer.  A sponsorship will do a lot to help him.

Nassali Florence, Age 16

Nassali lives with her father, Byalugaba, and several siblings.  While they have adequate housing, they are in need of additional support.  The family owns a plot of land and grows bananas, tomatoes, cassava, maize, onions, and beans, which they use to trade for money.  Nassali is Senior 2 (Grade 9) at Hope Academy.  She enjoys reading the Bible, playing with her friends, playing netball, singing and dancing. Please help support her with a sponsorship.

Mutebi Anuwluh, Age 15

Mutebi is a Senior 2 (Grade 9) student at Hope Academy.  He lives with his grandmother, his six-year old cousin and two uncles who are fifteen and sixteen years old.  It is a small house and they do not own their own land.  In terms of health, Mutebi has an eye disease called Trachoma which means he’s far sighted. His stepfather gave him medicine but he died in 2005 and they can no longer afford it. His grandmother has a bad leg and back but she still has to farm every day. Mutebi likes football, computers, reading and studying.  A sponsorship would help significantly benefit him, especially with the health concerns. Andrew Mujjuzi, 20
