Poultry Projects
Muslim Women Project
The chicken project is a self-help project for Muslim Women in the community. The non-muslim women are involved with the piggery project. Since Muslims don't associate with pigs, they decided to undertake the poultry project instead. Two groups of women started with a 100 chickens each. The women feed the chickens as a group. The chicken house construction was a group effort as well. URF only contributed funds for purchase of chickens and feeding them until they start laying eggs.
Funds for this project have been donated by Bridget Sangster and family from Canada. Bridget is currently volunteering in Uganda during March - June, 2008. Thanks to her generousity and commitment to improving the lives of many women and their families in rural Uganda.

After School Upper Class Project
Student Project
The upper class students in the after school program are in the process of implementing a chicken project based on the ideas and skills obtained from the entreprenuership class. The students drew up several proposals and the chicken one seems to be the most feasible of all. Each makes monetary, material, and labor contribution to the project. They have no funding for the project at all. They want to pull it off together as a group - but any donation to strengthen the project would be appreciated. See progress and budget.
Both the women's group and students have recieved a series of training on how to raise chickens and project management which is essential to the success of the projects.
Upper Class Chicken Project Budget
Any help to these students to realize their dream project would be appreciated.
